Scottish Franchise Week returns to Glasgow for 2017

Franchising is an ever-growing industry in Scotland, and the 2015 bfa Natwest Survey showed that the annual turnover of the sector had increased by 14% to £800m, driven by over 2,200 businesses employing more than 32,000 people.
This years’ Scottish Franchise Week, taking place 24th-28th April, is bringing you an innovative and fresh new approach, with a host of networking and educational events across two days in Glasgow. The rest of the week will be used to highlight the successes and possibilities that franchising can hold across our online channels.
Tuesday 25th April will see a day of educational events across various locations in Glasgow. A Prospective Franchisee Seminar will take place at Wright Johnston & Mackenzie LLP from 10.00-15.00, and a Prospective Franchisor Seminar will take place at Harper Macleod LLP from 9.30-16.00. These are a great opportunity for those thinking about franchising to come along and learn more about the industry, gaining insight on how to ensure you have completed your due diligence, and also learn from experts within the industry.
On Wednesday 26th April, we will hold our annual Business Breakfast. This year we have an amazing keynote speaker, Josh Littlejohn. Josh is one of Scotland’s most prolific entrepreneurs, and is passionate about making a difference in the world. CEO and Co-founder of Social Bite, a chain of sandwich shops that donates all profits to charity, Josh employs a dedicated workforce, which is partially made up of staff from formerly homeless backgrounds. 2016 saw the launch of The Social Bite Academy; the UK’s first skills and employment academy for the homeless community.
We are introducing a panel session to this year’s Business Breakfast. Made up of franchisees and franchisors from within the industry, this will give you the chance to hear from those who are on both sides of the franchising fence, sharing their successes and challenges, and answering any questions you may have.
After the Business Breakfast, we will be hosting a Forum to discuss the latest topics in franchising and in Scotland. This is best place to mix with likeminded franchising professionals to exchange ideas and share experiences.
The Prospective Franchisee and Franchisor Seminars along with the Forum are free to attend in Scotland, and the Business Breakfast is only £20. There has never been a better time to franchise in the northernmost part of the UK so make sure you join us for a week of great events and find out what a vibrant and thriving sector franchising is.
John Hancock, Managing Director, Venture Marketing Group, the organisers of The Franchise Exhibitions, commented: “We are delighted to sponsor this event which contributes year-on-year to the continued growth of franchising in Scotland. Scottish Franchise Week is a fantastic opportunity for franchisors and franchisees alike to share experiences and best practice while raising awareness of the industry.”
