A decade of technological evolution

It’s 20 years on, but 3@1 Business Centres continue to grow from strength to strength, just how much communication technology has evolved during the past decade. South African-born and bred, the 3@1 Franchising concept has continued to grow steadily, providing its consumer customers and businesses alike with state-of-the-art retail electronic communication products as well as international and local courier services.

Recognising that efficient, relevant and up-to-date communication is the lifeblood of any businesses globally, 3@1 Business Centres provide fast and cost effective methods of electronic communication as well as other forms of communication products and services to communities everywhere via carefully selected and localised retail outlets.

It’s this careful focus and passion that has helped the team behind the 3@1 concept, Chris and Belinda Dunn, to grow their group to over 80 stores today. They carefully select franchisees to apply their successful and proven business formula, which is transferred via in-depth face to face training as well as continuous product development and upgrades, technological adaptation and sustained franchisor backup.

The 3@1 Franchised stores offer three categories of retail communication, depending on each community’s specific requirements. These include electronic communication services and products i.e. internet, photo lab, print and fax services, photocopying, laminating and binding, and a printing bureau. Finally, they offer postal communication and products including domestic and international couriers.

Individual and multi-unit opportunities are on offer both locally and in neighbouring/international countries. Beside standalone stores, host locations – sites within existing retail outlets such as supermarkets or large office blocks – are also an option. Pricing dependant on size of available site and therefore tailor-made.

Successful 3@1 franchise applicants are offered assistance with site location, store set-up, full turnkey store opening, and full training. While the total cost will vary slightly, depending on the size of the location (50m2 to 70m2 required for a standalone store), It is a prerequisite that all 3@1 franchised stores must be owner-run.

Today’s communication methods may be changing at breathtaking speeds, however this retail communications market leader maintains that its first obligation as 3@1 Business Centre Franchisor is to speedily incorporate each new technology into the 3@1 franchise family. And for this reason, it looks like 3@1 will sail into the “Twenties” ahead of the rest.
