Spring in her step: new owner for Ilkley & Skipton cleaning franchise

With the spring cleaning season approaching, an established domestic cleaning franchise serving Ilkley and Skipton has been bought out by local businesswoman, Emma Cabry.

Yorkshire-born and bred, Emma, 35, chose to leave her 17-year management career to invest in Merry Maids, one of the UK’s leading domestic cleaning franchises. The business, which originally launched in 2002, employs nine staff and provides high-quality cleaning services to over 90 customers across Ilkley and Skipton.

Emma said: “I’ve always wanted to run my own business and having two small children, I wanted a change from the hectic corporate world. With my local knowledge and ambition to drive this business forward, I hope to be recruiting more local staff, serving more customers and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Merry Maids brand operations manager, Catriona Berry added: “Emma has shown all the characteristics of a great Merry Maids business owner and a fantastic franchisee. I’m confident her determination to succeed and offer the very best customer service will be proven by her results and we wish her all the best.”

Merry Maids is a franchise of ServiceMaster Ltd, which has been operating in the UK for over 55 years. With nearly 70 local Merry Maids businesses in the UK, it is one of the leading domestic cleaning brands in the industry.
