TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas

UK Franchise Director Colm Hefferon attended the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Annual Meeting in Austin Texas at the beginning of March.

Each year the Annual Meeting acts as a ‘family reunion’ for the network allowing franchise owners and their staff to meet and network with each other as well as members of the executive, support teams and network suppliers.

As well as the networking opportunities there were classroom style workshops and breakout sessions on a range of topics including:

  • Recruitment using Social Media and other online advertising
  • Developing and motivating team members
  • Converting web leads to booked moves
  • Pricing – from weekend rates to full dynamic pricing

At the close of the first day TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® President Randy Shacka summed up: “Just four years ago, at our Dallas Annual Meeting, we were celebrating $200 million in revenue, now four years later, we’re back in Texas, and celebrating $400 million in revenue.”

He also highlighted some themes for the way forward for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®:

Collaborate. We can collaborate more as a brand.

Align. Standard practices are becoming a necessity. Think about your franchise teams and standard processes within locations that truly define the HOW of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, which sets us apart from the competition.

Continue this momentum. Success can be taken away at any moment. Continue building upon the 73 months of growth and seize the opportunity to continue this success.

Opportunity. Our biggest challenge is our opportunity. Focus efforts on opportunities for team members, invest in them, and put that focus on opportunities for our people.

Moving companies in general are expected to increase 1.3%, and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is growing 20 times that number! Average franchise sales are up to $3.4 million today and the system has grown 17% for the last six years straight. If this trend continues into 2020, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will be a billion dollar company.

Colm summed up his visit:

“Overall I really liked the classes and learning what others in the room had to say,” “I was really impressed by the willingness of people in my sessions to share ideas. Everyone wants to help one another out for the better of the brand.”
