TAB announces Franchisee of the Year 2025

The Alternative Board (TAB) has named Dave McCartney its Franchisee of the Year 2025.
The award was announced at TAB’s recent Annual Conference hosted at the Crowne Plaza in Leeds. TAB is the world’s largest franchise system providing peer advisory boards and business coaching for business owners.
The conference brought together TAB franchisees from across the UK to celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary and provide a platform for learning, networking and growth.
Dave was honoured as TAB’s Franchise of the Year 2025 in recognition of the outstanding success of his Leeds North and Central franchise. As one of the founding UK franchisees, he has spent the past 15 years building a thriving business and setting a benchmark for excellence within the TAB network.
“Year after year, Dave helps a significant number of business owners in Leeds change their lives for the better. Last Autumn he sold his Leeds Central territory to a new franchisee, and the support Dave provided to get him established was above and beyond. This cemented his place at the top of the TAB tree this year. I’m delighted Dave has won this award for the third time, thus joining an elite group of TAB franchise owners.”
Nominated for the award by members of the TAB head office team, Dave received high praise for his commitment to the franchise. Comments included: “He is an absolute pleasure to work with – his communication is excellent, he consistently meets expectations, and he goes above and beyond to support fellow TAB business owners. He has truly made an exceptional effort to integrate others into TAB.”
Dave joined TAB following a successful career within the food and chemical industries having held leadership roles at Globe Food Ingredients, Nandi Proteins and Fiske Food Ingredients. Like the majority of TAB franchisees Dave utilises his commercial experience to deliver tangible change to his franchise members’ businesses. Dave now successfully runs three TAB peer boards which meet monthly to discuss and tackle business challenges together. The regular sessions, alongside one-to-one coaching, enable business owners to get advice, set targets and improve their businesses.
Other winners at the annual conference included: Elliot and Natalie Rich – Community Award, Liam Kane – Accountability Award, Paul Winterbottom – Lifelong Learning Award, Ted Robinson – Innovation Award, Steve Cook – Belief Award, David Abbott, Respect Award and Jonathan O’Shea, Excellence Award.
With more business owners seeking peer-led solutions, the demand for TAB’s services continues to rise. Its franchise model allows aspiring franchisees to become a part of this powerful movement, supporting business owners within their local communities while growing their own businesses in the process.
TAB works with hundreds of SME members across the UK and has a global network spanning 24 countries. TAB members meet monthly to share their business challenges and provide each other with practical, real-world advice.
Territories around the UK are available to confident leaders with a strong track record in business.
