Caring Scottish Franchise Crowned at the Scottish and Asian Business Awards
The Glasgow franchise of Home Instead Senior Care is celebrating after scooping a prestigious award at the Scottish and Asian Business Awards.
Franchise owner Suhail Rehman was awarded the coveted title of ‘Franchise of the Year’ at a glittering ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow in recognition of the outstanding service delivered to clients across Scotland.
Suhail comes from an engineering and business background. He has launched several technology companies and successfully managed global property investment funds. However, it was his voluntary experience in the care sector which introduced him to Home Instead and he joined in 2013. He was impressed with the unique business model and was aligned to the Home Instead values and approach: 1 hour visits, personally led care and how it is delivered.
The Home Instead Senior Care network is made up of over 195 franchise offices who share a passion for making a difference to people’s lives. As well as providing a quality home care service, franchise owners enjoy working for themselves and building a successful business.
Today the UK operation is widely recognised as the leading home care franchise business with more coveted outstanding ratings from the care sector’s regulatory body, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), than any other home care provider.
The business awards, now in their 13th year, celebrate and recognise the achievements of the Scottish Asian business community and were attended by over 500 people. Categories this year were wide-ranging, honouring entrepreneurs and professionals across private, public and third sectors.
Irfan Younis, CEO of Oceanic Consulting who organised the awards said: “We would like to congratulate all winners and finalists acknowledged in the Scottish Asian & Business Awards 2018 and give thanks to those hard-working and brilliant people who cement Asian culture and presence across all sectors of industry in Scotland.”
Suhail commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award and it is particularly gratifying to know that this was not just awarded on business performance, but that it was also based on our contribution to the local community”.
The Scottish and Asian Business Award brings the total won by the Glasgow franchise to an impressive 5 over the past 12 months.
Suhail explains: “It’s been a fantastic year for the Home Instead Care Glasgow Franchise. For the fourth year running we were recognised as Scotland’s top home care provider by the industry leading review website homecare.co.uk, additionally we were recognised as finalists in the Support Provider of the Year category at the Scottish Care Awards and we are also finalists at the East Renfrewshire Business Awards in the Small Business of the Year Category. Most recently, we were awarded a 4 Star Best Employer Award based on feedback from our office team and caregivers.
“I’d like to thank them for all their hard work and commitment shown in providing the best possible care for older people in our area.”
