are franchise Home Instead works with Boots on ‘the conversation around care’

Home Instead franchisees welcomed to Boots UK’s over-60s rewards events

Continuing in their partnership with Boots UK, a number of Home Instead franchisees were invited to Boots UK’s over-60s rewards events across the country. As part of the home care company’s ‘care conversations’ initiative, Home Instead franchisees and their teams offered Boots colleagues and customers the tools and encouragement to discuss care options with loved ones through their own expertise.

This opportunity came about as a result of Home Instead’s innovative partnership with Boots UK, helping to highlight home care services within local communities, alongside increasing understanding about home care as a choice of care in later life.

Research conducted by Home Instead has found that despite a third of adults saying they were concerned about their parents’ physical health, a huge percentage (81%) were reluctant to speak to them about their care choices when they get older or need support.

As the leading home care franchise, Home Instead know it’s a great idea to discuss care, help at home and future wishes, but these conversations are often put off for various reasons- whether this is because it is uncomfortable, or because people think it is not urgent. All too often, the care conversation is left too late or until a crisis occurs.

In their mission to ‘change the face of ageing’, the Home Instead network is encouraging people to have the care conversation early on, even when there isn’t a need, helping to establish what kind of support people want when the time comes.

The 240+ Home Instead franchisees across the UK and their caring teams support families through this stage, helping to develop a care plan and make a transition into care as easy as possible. The events at Boots’ stores gave people the chance to chat with local Home Instead offices about how to spot the signs that their loved ones are struggling, when to introduce care and what Home Instead’s dedicated caregivers do for clients and their families.
