2018 Franchise Marketing Awards Winners Are Announced

Franchise Marketing Awards 2018: Winners announced

Excellence in franchise marketing recognised and celebrated at the 13th annual Franchise Marketing Awards.

Excited finalists convened to learn the results of the esteemed awards on Friday evening, 5 October.

As one of the industry’s most coveted accolades, the Franchise Marketing Awards shine a light on the marketing programmes and marketing support provided by franchisors to their franchise networks.

For 13 years, the awards have evaluated the design, execution and results of marketing programmes from scores of franchise brands, providing recognition and celebration of innovative and effective marketing campaigns and tools.

Proudly sponsored by AW Digital, this year’s awards attracted an especially high number of entries from a wide spectrum of franchise brands, and a panel of four independent experts enjoyed judging six categories of award.

ChipsAway won the first award of the evening, Best Print Advert, for the visual impact of their ads as well as the witty play on words which undoubtedly appeals to their target audience.

The award for Best Website went to Colourfence with a particular mention of how the use of video on the website brought the product and offering to life.

Impressed with the relevance and extent of the coverage achieved through PR, the judges awarded Best PR Campaign to sales and management training specialists Sandler Training.

Sponsors AW Digital presented the award for Best Online Marketing Campaign to courier services franchise, InXpress. The judges were impressed by the multi-faceted campaign which used humour particularly effectively to deliver tangible results.

From an unprecedented list of 14 finalists, Dream Doors won the award for Best Franchisee Marketing Support, with the judges commending the 360-degree approach adopted by the company to deliver a clear marketing framework, training to execute it, support at a local franchisee level, and measurable results.

Alex Waite, Director of Franchise Recruitment at Dream Doors, comments:

“I am so proud that we won this hotly-contested award. It’s a testament to the hard work of the Dream Doors team and is tangible recognition that supporting franchisees is at the heart of the company.”

The award for Best Overall Marketing Campaign once again went to Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA), thanks to a long-term campaign based on a clearly developed theme. The judges were particularly impressed by the use of thought-leadership to generate leads for their franchisees.

Neil Apter, Marketing Manager at ERA, comments:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to win this award for the third time in four years. We are fully committed to our strategy of resonating with our audience by demonstrating what makes ERA so special: the experts that we have within our network.

“By using a range of thought leadership and content marketing techniques, ERA Franchise Partners are able to open doors and win new clients to grow their businesses.

“Adding this award to our previous wins further demonstrates that when it comes to delivering high-quality, usable marketing collateral that delivers clients, we’re leading the way in the franchise industry.”

Helen Wood, portfolio sales manager at Venture Marketing Group, who organise the event, summarises the significance of the Franchise Marketing Awards:

“These awards reflect one of the fundamental advantages of franchising – the ongoing support of the franchisor.

“I offer massive congratulations to the finalists and winners of these awards, each of whom have demonstrated dedication to supporting their franchise networks through well-designed and effective marketing programmes.”

The awards organisers would like to thank the sponsor, AW Digital, and the judges for giving up their time and expertise:  Pip Wilkins, Chief Executive at the bfa; Tony Massey, UK Deputy Head of Franchising at HSBC; Jane Masih, Head of Franchising at Owen White Solicitors; and Tim Samuel, Commercial Director at Smithfield Agency.
