Fitness Space announced as a Top 20 UK Fitness Operator

Fitness Space announced 17th largest fitness operator in the UK

Fitness Space, the boutique, service-orientated fitness concept which promises members they will ‘never train alone’, has been announced as the 17th largest fitness operator in the UK, according to the 2018 State of the Industry report from Leisure DB.

Following the opening of 14 new locations in the last 12 months, Fitness Space has expanded faster than any other brand outside of the top ten operators, bucking the industry growth trend. While the penetration rate of private club membership has grown year-on-year since 2012, the percentage growth in the last 12 months was 0.1% and not 0.7% as predicted.

The success of Fitness Space has been driven by the popularity of the concept and the business opportunity it presents owners. Members enjoy a digitally integrated fitness experience in a state-of-the-art studio, with a dedicated Fitness Coach who customises a programme based on the goals they want to achieve. The franchise-operated model not only offers sustainable and consistent revenue opportunities through a plethora of secondary spend products and services in addition to membership sales, but every franchise owner is provided with high levels of support and guidance.

Tim Benjamin, founder, Fitness Space, comments: “In the last 12 months Fitness Space has grown exponentially, and it is a huge accolade to be recognised as a top 20 fitness operator. Our boutique studios provide a digitally integrated, supportive, service-orientated environment for members, and the concepts proven popularity has helped to accelerate our growth across the UK. With more choice for consumers than ever before, fitness operators have to work hard to ensure their brand and concept remains attractive to members and competitive. We are continually focused on evolving our model and expect to open a further 12 studios in 2018.”

Hashim Alsaidi, franchise owner, Fitness Space Wimbledon comments: “We chose a Fitness Space franchise as we were drawn to the brand’s unique business model and expert team. Since opening in January 2018, our membership base is growing fast, and with the support of the Fitness Space brand, we have been successfully marketing ourselves to establish our position as a leading gym in the Wimbledon area.”

Fitness Space has been nominated as a finalist in the British Franchise Association ‘Emerging Franchisor of the Year’ 2018.
