Home Instead goes for gold at ‘the franchise Oscars’

Leading home care franchise, Home Instead is proud to have been shortlisted, for not one, but two awards at the bfa HSBC British Franchise Awards.

Home Instead has been shortlisted in the Franchisor Leadership and Culture category, and franchisee Suhail Rehman has been shortlisted for the Best in Class Multi-Unit Leader award.

Director of Business Development at Home Instead, Ruth Brown commented: “We are thrilled to have been recognised in these awards which really are the Oscars in franchising.  Being shortlisted in such prestigious categories is a testament to our commitment not just to providing exceptional care for our older generation, but also to our community of franchisees and their caring teams.”

The Leadership and Culture category celebrates franchisors who are committed to their vision and values and who place their people at the heart of their business.

Speaking about Home Instead’s nomination for Leadership & Culture, Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchising Association, said: “This category has been particularly sought after in the past few years. As with any business, the real test on leadership and culture comes during the toughest times and I think it’s fair to say we have had a fair few of those in recent years. Huge congratulations to Home Instead and fellow finalists in a category that are really shining examples of what should be done to achieve change together and remain united in its goals and objectives.”

Suhail has been named a Best in Class Multi-Unit finalist having built a significant business with Home Instead.

Ruth Brown said: “We are incredibly proud of Suhail for being shortlisted, which further demonstrates the success that can be achieved through franchising.  Suhail has taken ourbusiness model and successfully grown his territories across Scotland, making a huge contribution to his local community while also being a highly valued and active member of our network.”

Scottish entrepreneur Suhail who owns seven territories, employing a team of 400, added: “It’s a huge honour to be recognised by these awards and to be shortlisted alongside other successful franchisees. Being a part of Home Instead is already the highlight of my career and has helped me to exceed so many professional goals.  With the company’s support I have built the business while also contributing and giving so much to my local community which is so important to me.

Winning this award would be a win not just for me, but for Home Instead, our wonderful team and the elderly clients we look after.”

Pip Wilkins congratulated Suhail: “Getting this nomination is an achievement and is a demonstration of what franchising can provide for those that have the passion and leadership to build a strong multi-unit business. It takes great skills to build a business and these finalists have done that many times over. Congratulations to Suhail and his team.”

Gillian Morris, Head of Franchising, HSBC, said: “The annual awards are a celebration of the achievements of the franchise sector, as well as the high standards of the finalists, their innovation and resilience demonstrated over the past year. We look forward to celebrating success with Suhail.”
