X-Press Legal Services donated nearly £18,000 to charities in 2020

X-Press Legal Services, the nationwide property search franchise, has celebrated donating a total of £17,900 to UK charities last year.

The company decided to support various charities in 2020, wanting to help those most in need who had been affected by the pandemic. Although X-Press was fortunate to continue business as usual throughout the lockdown, the firm was aware it has been difficult for many businesses, and that charities have been unable to fundraise as normal.

X-Press’s head office ran a charity campaign throughout December, with all their 26 franchise offices donating to their local foodbanks. Linking with the Trussell Trust foodbank charity, offices donated large sums of money in addition to generous food parcels.

Lynne Lister, managing director of X-Press Legal Services commented: “The pandemic has caused hardship for so many, resulting in a record number of people now reliant on local foodbanks to feed themselves and their families. We wanted to help in whatever way we could, and encouraged our network to do the same. We are proud to have helped so many local foodbanks throughout England and Wales with much-needed essentials.”

Local offices also decided to donate to their local charities, many of which were chosen by their clients. With offices unable to visit their clients this year, many offices donated the money they would usually spend on festive gifts for their clients to a range of different charities.

X-Press Legal Services Gloucestershire owners, Penny and Graham Brierley donated a generous sum to a local homeless charity, Emmaus Gloucester, alongside 20 other charities of their clients’ choice. They commented: “2020 was a very difficult year for many charities, with raising funds a much harder task, and therefore it seemed like the right thing for us to do. We were glad to be able to donate to a range of charities, all of which do amazingly well at helping to support those in need throughout the year.”
