We’re changing: Fit4less rebrands to énergie Fitness

In 2003 we broke the mould with the launch of our first club, fast forward 15 years to 2018 and a lot has changed.

The budget sector we helped to create has changed beyond recognition, and now, we’re diving into blue ocean to become the brand that breaks down the barriers of intimidation so everyone, without exception, can be empowered to transform their lives. This is where énergie Fitness – where you belong was born.

énergie fitness offers a compelling consumer proposition combining state-of-the-art exercise equipment and first-class fitness facilities, with affordable, clear, low-cost pricing, making fitness accessible to everyone. The result is that on a purely gym based experience, énergie fitness goes head-to-head with even the most premium of health and fitness clubs.

Highlighting the importance of the message that the énergie brand represents, énergie Chairman and CEO, Jan Spaticchia commented: “Our mission is to democratise fitness and our core purposes is to empower people to transform their lives. To do that, we want to provide a ‘safe’ place where people really feel they belong – at an affordable price!”. The new énergie Fitness model incorporates four signatures; a new brand, new clubs, new fitness products and a new service and experience. Here’s a look at what the new club model comprises.

Club Hosts

Whilst the industry is growing as a whole, Mintel’s latest report for Health and Fitness Clubs stated that 49% of UK gym members regularly experience a lack of communication from gym staff. The new énergie Fitness brand has been developed to prevent this, introducing clubs hosts to cater to the missing ingredient that stems from the unstaffed structures of today’s large budget and twenty-four-hour gyms. Not only do our hosts ensure that every member is welcomed on arrival, but they also act as a valuable point of contact for gym-users during their time in the club, giving them a VIP member experience at all times.

Take the Stage Training

A new division of our in-depth training curriculum is our Take the Stage programme. Designed by our very own training team at énergie Central in early 2017, Take the Stage was born with an objective of helping franchisees and club staff shine in their individual roles. With a dedicated training team delivering and implementing the programme in all its fun, quirky and innovative glory, every club is encouraged to ‘Take the Stage’ on a daily basis, putting a unique spin on customer service for members.

thé YARD

A significant advance for énergie is the creation and launch of our brand-new signature training concept – thé YARD. Designed and implemented by our very own fitness training and development team, thé YARD offers all-inclusive, high intensity boutique classes, which transform the way members train and in turn significantly diversifying the énergie gym experience. Teaming with MYZONE to incorporate the use of fitness wearables, thé YARD brings a competitive and challenging nature to the gym atmosphere.

With the rebrand beginning to take shape from late 2016, 2017 was essentially the big debut for the new énergie brand. This period of time not only saw a number of Fit4less clubs rebranding to the new model, but also a number of new club launches, including énergie Fitness Sheldon who were the first club to launch thé YARD, and énergie Fitness Ipswich who opened their doors with a record-breaking 2300 members.

An exciting year lies ahead for énergie Fitness, and with new sites available every month as the new model continues to fly, we now need franchisees to fill them.
