Transport service for elderly and disabled thriving

Driving Miss Daisy® Bath, one of the first of Driving Miss Daisy®’s franchises of 2019, has become an instant success. The Driving Miss Daisy brand provides specialised transportation and companion services for elderly and disabled people throughout the country. Since its launch, the Bath franchise, run by husband and wife team Sarah and Jo Webb, has generated so many orders that they are already having to expand their fleet with more wheelchair accessible vehicles and companion drivers.

Sarah said: “Soon after our formation we attended the Bath and NE Somerset Dementia Action Alliance – Dementia Friendly Conference. The reception we received was beyond our wildest dreams!

“Orders are flooding in from a range of organisations who support people and families of people with dementia. “These orders, in conjunction with our existing contracts have galvanised our expansion plans.”

There are in excess of 13 million people over the age of 65 and 12 million people in the UK living with a disability, over 20 per cent of whom report difficulty in finding transportation or living their lives as they would wish. Driving Miss Daisy empowers the least able in society to live more independent lives through the provision of specialist companionship, support, transport and social engagement services.
