There’s more than one way to run your Massage 2 Mummy business

No massage? No problem! The Massage 2 Mummy service is a very specific one.

Rather than indulge in multiple massage disciplines or business models, the Massage 2 Mummy reputation has been built on the basis of a single service performed with professionalism and to the highest standards.

This has massive advantages to franchisees in that their customers know exactly what to expect and the franchisee can remain focused on a single product.

That said, as a franchisee, there is more than one way to run a Massage 2 Mummy business, which means it is truly is open to everyone. We’ve looked at some of these options below:

1. The “Hands-On” Approach

For those that want to be operating on the front line of their business performing the actual massages.

Whether you’re a massage therapist now, have been in the past or have never provided a massage in your life, the Massage 2 Mummy training programme can take you from complete beginner to having a recognised international qualification in Full Body Massage and an equally recognised diploma in Maternity Massage in the space of a few weeks.

Classroom training dates are flexible to fit around busy lifestyles and once training is complete you can start operating your business. With you performing the massages, your costs are minimal. No staff wages and no need for a separate premises. Just regularly supplied clients and instant profitability. From there, you can carry on as you are or look to expand your business (and your income) by bringing on staff to take on more work.

The downside is if you have no current massage qualifications it can take a little while before you are able to start trading. Massage 2 Mummy are committed to providing the best possible service to their clients and so training of therapists is comprehensive. Only once this has been completed, can you start providing massages.

2. The Management Method

Being a massage therapist isn’t for everyone but that doesn’t mean that running a Massage 2 Mummy franchise isn’t for you.

Many franchisees choose to operate their business from a purely management perspective, recruiting staff to perform the actual massages.

For many, this means recruiting one or more qualified massage therapists to work for them directly who can be salaried or paid on a “per massage” basis. The therapist will still have to complete the Maternity Massage diploma and be subject to initial supervised visits but the process of getting started is much faster. This also has the advantage that you can bring on multiple therapists creating scope for performing more massages in a day and thus much higher turnover and profits.

The downside, of course, is that you are giving up some of your income to pay someone else to perform the massages but this can be offset by taking on more staff. In addition, managing staff isn’t for everyone so it’s important to be sure you’re happy in that environment before proceeding on this basis.

3. The Mixed Model

Increasingly popular, this gives Massage 2 Mummy franchisees a slice of both methods and can be a great way of transitioning your business.

As mentioned in the hands-on method above, for those wanting to be fully involved in the front end of their business it can take a number of weeks for a beginner to get fully qualified to provide Massage 2 Mummy massages.

This means a wait between signing your franchise agreement and actually earning an income from it. Not great for the franchisee or for Massage 2 Mummy who earn their income from the clients they provide.

To get around this problem, franchisees have taken the approach of recruiting a qualified massage therapist so that they can get started almost straightaway whilst also going through the training process themselves at the same time.

This means they start earning from their franchise immediately and then once their own training is complete, they’ve got 2 qualified therapists able to service their clients and increase their profitability. A quicker start whilst still getting to be fully involved and qualified but again you need to be comfortable managing staff.

Whatever your preference, the Massage 2 Mummy Business development team are there to help build your franchise around you. Whether that’s support during training or help or advice in recruiting staff, their approach very much falls in the category of a hands-on approach! As such, there’s no better way to get involved in this lucrative industry.
