Signs Express Recognised for Encouraging Women into Franchising

Signs Express are thrilled to announce that Jane Wiles, franchisee of Signs Express (Portsmouth), has been nominated for the EWIF New Female Franchisee of the Year 2016.

EWIF (Encouraging women into franchising) is a non-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers that support women who are looking for a route into the franchise industry.

Franchising can be a great option for motivated women with an entrepreneurial spirit. It allows you to be your own boss, whilst offering support and experience of an established, proven business model.

EWIF’s mission statement is “to change the face of the franchise sector so that women have a much larger presence than they do currently and to balance out the ratio of men to women in the franchise industry”.

Signs Express have always worked hard to encourage their franchising proposition to both men and women alike and have many female franchisees throughout their growing network in the UK and Ireland.

Jane is being recognised by EWIF for the incredible work she has done since taking on the Signs Express (Portsmouth) centre with her partner Ray in January 2015.

After just 12 months of trading the pair have already increased turnover by 125% compared to the same period in 2014. Jane relocated to Portsmouth in order to run the centre and has worked tirelessly to gain knowledge of the region in order to further promote the business.

With a predominately client facing role, Jane handles most aspects of team management and marketing, both of which have been an integral role in the increase in clients and also profit the business has seen during the couple’s short tenure.

“I am absolutely thrilled by this announcement,” Jane stated, “and am excited to be listed as a finalist! This is an amazing cause, encouraging women into franchisee roles and raising their profile in the industry. Running a business in a male dominated industry myself, being a franchisee has helped give me the confidence and drive to see our professional goals realised.”

The EWIF award winners will be announced on 24th May.
