Record year for alloy wheel refurbishment franchise

It’s been a record year for alloy wheel refurbishment it was announced this weekend, as The Wheel Specialist gave their latest figures. A rise in sales of 14% saw the national franchise turnover almost £10 Million in 2017, flying in the face of the years predicted fall in overall new car sales.

The Wheel Specialist has safely cornered the market and is currently unchallenged as the UK’s only national wheel refurbishment Franchise to operate from fixed-premises. In addition to this, they attribute the rise in sales to not only internal business development, but also owing to an increase in the amount of leased vehicles on the roads, with drivers utilising The Wheel Specialist’s services to avoid paying heavy penalties often incurred when returning lease vehicles with scuffed wheels.

With over 25+ Franchise locations throughout the country, TWS has announced that they already have 3 further planned openings for 2018 in Colchester, Weston-Super-Mare and their first Northern Ireland branch which will be launching in the heart of Belfast later this year.

The Wheel Specialist reports that in line with the existing network all of their new locations will be equipped with in-house Diamond Cutting lathes.

Ever increasing in popularity, demand for Diamond Cut wheel refurbishment continues to soar as more and more vehicles are equipped with them due to their eye-catching appearance, making up over 30% of the total work undertaken by TWS in 2017, as opposed to less than 1% in 2012.

Going home with The Wheel Specialist’s “Overall Best Performing Franchise” Award this year was the Teesside branch who achieved phenomenal sales in only their 2nd year of trading, a fantastic result.

Director of Operations at TWS (Ginny Murphy) said:

“We’ve seen incredible growth in 2017 and our network have demonstrated once again, as they did during the recession in 2008, that despite uncertain times for the country as a whole our market continues to flourish and grow. We’ve seen one of our best start-up performances ever. TWS Teesside are extremely deserving Winners of the Overall Best Performing Franchise award and I have no doubt the entire network will continue going from strength to strength as we continue invest in brand awareness and expand the business”.
