MagiKats’ First Centre in Wales Works like ‘Magic’!

Now in its four month, the MagiKats Tuition Centre in Llandaff North is off to a ‘magic’ start – all thanks to a great local Principal, Jane Williams, a prominent shop location and, of course, the MagiKats maths and English tuition programme.

Since launching her centre in a shop on Station Road in March, Jane has welcomed new students as young as 7 and as old as 16, all from the local area, to her maths and English workshops which are currently running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Jane says, “Decorating and fitting out the shop was great fun. The previous tenants had already painted a tree on one wall and we are using that as a ‘tree of achievement’ for our students.

The MagiKats purple colour is great to use and our shop front really stands out on the street. People are popping in the whole time to find out what we can offer and are always welcome to join me for a cup of tea or coffee if they want to discuss enrolling their child.”

Coming from an education background, the MagiKats programme appealed to Jane as it was something she could use to provide just the right support for the diverse community in the Llandaff North area.

“We have a very culturally diverse population locally,” Jane continues, “with lots of second language English speakers and many kids who struggle at school because of the Welsh requirements.”

Being able to help these kids study and improve their English speaking and understand is invaluable.”

When asked what the maths programme offers, Jane’s opinion is clear. “No matter whether it is maths or English,” she says, “the MagiKats programme allows each child to study what they need, when they need it. Also, because we help them develop their thinking skills, problem solving skills and subject skills, children and teenagers across the area can only benefit from the arrival of the MagiKats programme in Llandaff North.”

Throughout July and August, all MagiKats Tuition Centres are offering a special holiday programme. To encourage more people to try MagiKats, Jane is also offering free taster session vouchers, which can be downloaded from the website (click here) – or people can just pop into the shop and see exactly what MagiKats is all about.

Jane has one more comment. “I have been teaching and training teachers across several continents and for more decades than I would care to admit to. The MagiKats programme has given me just what I want – world class teaching materials packaged with a multi-sensory approach to learning that I can use for every child or teenager to help them make the most of their individual potential. I love being a MagiKats Principal!”
