IWG (Regus) franchisee James Wright to open 5 locations

James, investor and Regus franchisee, is capitalising on the changing office landscape as he shares his ambitious plans for five flexible workspaces in residential London, along with why IWG was the right partner for the job.

Of his decision to run a flexible workspace franchise, James says:

The choice was really between doing this ourselves or partnering with IWG. What they provide is the underlying knowledge and support…

What I would say to anyone considering becoming a franchise partner is that this is absolutely the right way to tackle this sector right now. So far, IWG have been great, We’re at the early stage but in terms of the support that’s there, it’s been first class.

The really interesting thing about partnering with IWG is that you get access to all of the different brands, it works better for a broader range of buildings, but also it appeals to a broad range of occupiers and that works well for us as we’re looking to access the maximum number of opportunities that we can and we want to appeal to the most occupiers.

The immediate target is to open 5 new centres over the next three years. Our clients are predominently young professionals who want to work closer to home but not necessarily at home. For us, it was about targeting the growth in the market and IWG is already signing those deals with large corporate occupiers and we certainly want to join them on that journey.

It feels really good to start the business and to take that leap of faith, but we’re really looking forward to building this into a sustainable and profitable company.
