Fire alarm contract win prompts first Yorkshire franchise in Leeds

A contract from a multinational construction services firm has prompted an expanding fire & security company to open its first Yorkshire franchise in Leeds.

Jackson Fire & Security has already been praised for its innovative approach to fire alarm and extinguisher maintenance in the commercial buildings managed by its client.

Now, the company has opened a franchise in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, in September. Jackson Fire & Security won the £30,000 annual fire alarm maintenance and reactive services contract against strong local competition. The contract covers 52 properties in an area from Sheffield to Newcastle upon Tyne, including a dozen in the Leeds area.

Jackson Fire and Security is now also regularly commissioned to carry out alarm upgrade works and to supply additional fire extinguishers.

An installation by Jackson Fire & Security of a fire alarm system that guaranteed no false alarms would save the owner of a commercial office block lost time and maintain productivity.

Previously, the tenant would seek to counter charge for loss of business each time a false alarm was triggered and staff had evacuated the building.

Jackson Fire & Security Leeds franchisee, Kris Milner said: “We’ve got off to a flying start in the city with this contract. We’re confident that our competitive pricing and prompt service will win us more.”

The contract includes fire extinguisher servicing, dry riser system servicing, fire alarm maintenance and monitoring, and public address and voice alarm (PAVA) system servicing.

Jackson Fire & Security is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of fire and security systems. Formed in 1991, it has franchises in Leeds, Liverpool, Warrington, Wirral, Mold, Bolton, Walsall and Cambridge

It employs 35 people across the six UK branches. Formed in 1991, it has built a reputation for quality, reliability and service, and is NSI gold accredited for fire and security systems.
