Anytime Fitness celebrates 3,000th branch opening in Stroud, UK
Health club marks opening with visit from CEO, Chuck Runyon
Stroud, UK, 2nd November 2015 – Anytime Fitness, the world’s fastest growing fitness franchise, today announces the opening of its 3000th health club. The occasion will be marked with a ceremony at a new club in Stroud later this month. Chuck Runyon, co-founder and CEO of Anytime Fitness will lead the celebrations by officially opening the venue on Tuesday November 24th. Anytime Fitness now has 60 clubs open in the UK, alongside clubs in almost thirty other countries, with over 2.5 million members in total.
“Anytime Fitness has opened 3,000 branches in less time than it took MacDonald’s, Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts, which shows the commercial strength of the brand and is testament to the commitment of its franchisees,” says Andy Thompson, Chairman of Anytime Fitness UK. “I’m delighted that all Anytime Fitness members can now use any of our three thousand clubs which are open 24/7, from Singapore to Qatar to Stroud.”
The Stroud club has had overwhelming support from the local community, with pre-memberships selling out quickly. Owner Adam Philips, a former finance professional, left the industry to focus on his keen interest in fitness, specifically triathlon, cycling and functional training. The club is managed by James Ogden, a personal trainer who is passionate about helping people lead healthier lives regardless of ability.
“We’ve been bowled over by the local support for our club,” says Adam Philips, owner, Anytime Fitness Stroud. “Although work started in earnest in June, we had commitment from the community as early as August 2014, which has been incredible. We’re honoured to be hosting the celebrations for the 3,000th club and look forward to growing and supporting the health goals of our Stroud members in the coming months.”
The Anytime Fitness brand is celebrating its thirteenth year of operating at the same time as it opens the 100th club in Japan, as well as establishing brand new franchises in Sweden and Italy. The franchise sector now contributes £14bn to the UK economy and with a 96% success rate, it is unsurprising that Anytime Fitness was recently ranked as the #1 ‘Top Global Franchise’ by Entrepreneur Magazine.
“Our members come first: that’s why we’re open 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says Chuck Runyon, CEO of Anytime Fitness. “It’s this commitment to convenience and community, providing classes and virtual classes at a mid-range price – as well as the passion of our franchisees – which has made Anytime Fitness such a success. We’re delighted to celebrate the 3,000th club opening in Stroud and would like to congratulate Adam, James and all of his team on this momentous event.”
