Abel was appointed head of franchising & field services for McDonald’s UK in 2016, following a successful 20-year career with the brand spanning operations and franchising.
He joined the business in 1995, progressing from a local restaurant team to overseeing a number of restaurants as a consultant in the region.
Abel worked in a number of national and regional roles throughout his time with McDonald’s, and before his current appointment held the position of director of franchising in the southern region, responsible for ensuring high standards of support and operational excellence across his group.
Abel now heads up the UK franchising strategy, field services and oversees the recruitment of new franchisees.

Linzi Boyd is an international speaker, author and founder of The BoB Group and Midas.
A serial entrepreneur, Linzi had set and up sold two businesses before the age of 24. Her third business; Surgery Group, has become renowned for influencing an industry, creating exciting projects and elevating some of the country’s most famous high-street consumer brands.
Linzi’s path to success has been beyond diverse, after years of working on building and developing brands she now manages her time between family life and three businesses, and this year she does not plan on slowing down.
Today, as the Founder of BoB Group and Midas, Linzi works in the SME space taking business owners on a journey to grow, fund and exit their businesses. Here, she created the school connected to BoB Greenhouse (a mini fund) to teach early stage growth businesses how to build a famous brand and get them ready for funding.

This is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from EventCity (see map) and serviced by bus routes from all over Greater Manchester. There are frequent buses providing a connection every 5 minutes (services 18, 247, 250 and X50) from the bus station to EventCity.
Air
Liverpool John Lennon Airport - By car: Join the A5300 at the airport, then take the M62 (eastbound) to the M60. Follow the M60 (westbound) exiting at junctions 9 or 10.
Manchester Airport - By car: Join the M56, then M60 (westbound) exiting at Junctions 9 or 10. By bus: Service 18 runs frequently direct to The Trafford Centre Bus Station.
Train
Manchester Piccadilly - Bus service X50 or 250 from Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station descending at the EventCity bus stop.
Manchester Victoria - Bus service 100 (every 12 minutes) or Service 110 (every 20 minutes) descending at The Trafford Centre bus station.
