Market leader for franchisee recruitment

Venture Marketing Group (VMG) cements its position as the market leader for franchisee recruitment by acquiring all FDS UK and International media assets.

Venture Marketing Group (‘VMG’) has today (19 January 2016) announced its acquisition of all the media assets of Franchise Development Services (‘FDS’) including The Franchise Magazine, The UK Franchise Directory and The International Franchise Directory along with all the company’s databases and media websites.

The acquisition complements VMG’s existing market-leading portfolio of exhibitions, magazines and digital media and reinforces the company’s position as the UK’s number one media organisation for franchisee recruitment.

John Hancock, Managing Director (VMG), commented:

“This acquisition significantly enhances our ability to reach high quality potential franchisees and franchisors here in the UK and overseas – with a particular draw on the North American, European and Asian markets. Critically, it allows us to offer an even greater return on investment for our exhibitors and advertisers. As always we will continue to focus exclusively on the quality end of the franchise marketplace and to work closely with our partner – the British Franchise Association.”

The Franchise Magazine was launched over 30 years ago and is an established and well-recognised brand both nationally and internationally.

Tracy Shah, Director (VMG) commented:

“We have worked with The Franchise Magazine for many years and understand the value and effectiveness of the magazine and associated products. We will develop and strengthen these brands to ensure that they attract even more quality prospects to our exhibitions and websites.”

Along with the media acquisition VMG has announced that it will be working closely with franchising specialists John Chambers and Damian Humphrey at Ashton KCJ Solicitors who have acquired the consulting arm of FDS and launched Ashtons Franchise Consulting Limited. This new consultancy will offer a comprehensive service to existing and new franchisors.

Nick Williams, who is leading the new consultancy, says:

“I am delighted to be working closely with Ashton KCJ and Venture Marketing Group in this new approach to franchise consulting. We are now able to offer a one-stop solution for our clients’ needs from under the new Ashtons Franchise Consulting banner. Working closely with Ashton KCJ and VMG will enable us to provide a truly modern, market-leading service both to those new to franchising and to established franchisors alike.”
