Huw Wardrope

Huw Wardrope is a London-based entrepreneur and the Co-Founder/CEO of Urban Baristas. With a background in Banking and Finance and drawing on his experience as a former professional basketball player, Huw launched his first business in health and fitness—a chain of three 24-hour gym franchises in London, which continue to thrive today.

Building on the success of his initial venture, Huw turned his passion for coffee into Urban Baristas, a brand that has its roots in vibrant Aussie cafe culture. What began as a humble kiosk at Bounds Green Tube Station in 2016 has since grown into a thriving business with over 17 locations across London, including their own roastery in Bethnal Green.

In 2024, Urban Baristas began franchising and has already sold 14 franchises, expanding the brand’s reach and making specialty coffee more accessible to communities across the UK.
