Wonderful Worcester collect another award for Driver Hire
When it comes to winning awards, Sue and Vance Parsons are making rather a habit of it. Owners of Driver Hire Hereford & Worcester, since opening for business two years ago, they’ve already bagged four of them. Their most recent success was in the ‘Enterprising Worcestershire’ business awards where they collected the 2015 trophy for ‘Business Growth’.
An annual event, the awards recognise the hard work and dedication of local entrepreneurs. Of course, Sue and Vance are worthy winners; their business record speaks for itself. After a record-breaking year in 2014/15, they’ve continued their outstanding story of success and are currently 18.5% up on same time last year.
Driver Hire Herford & Worcester provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff, chiefly to the road transport and logistics industry. They help when customers need extra staff to deal with holidays, illness, peak trading periods or business expansion.
A recent survey conducted by the British Franchise Association (bfa) shows that franchising is a low risk route to growth. During 2015 less than 4% of franchised businesses failed. Compare that to standalone business start-ups, of which 50% will fail within the first two years of trading.
“It looks like we’re going to have extend our trophy cabinet!” says Vance. “It’s always good to have your efforts recognised. And, of course, it reflects on the whole team here at Hereford & Worcester. We’re now looking forward to meeting the challenges over the next month or so, one of the busiest of the whole year.”
Voicing his congratulations to Sue and Vance, Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director added: “There success story is an impressive one. From a standing start they now employ three people, find work for over 50 drivers on a regular basis and provide services to around 80 local businesses. They’ve also added a sister business, ‘dh Recruitment’ which sources and supplies non-driving staff on both a temporary and permanent basis. This award is well deserved – I’m really pleased for them.”
