Visiting Angels’ carer-centric culture lauded with latest award shortlisting

It has been another month of success and celebrations for the UK’s carer-centric in-home care franchise, Visiting Angels, which has been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious BFA HSBC Franchise of the Year Awards’ Leadership & Culture category. Making it to the finals of the ‘Oscars of the franchise industry’ for the third year in a row has further reinforced Visiting Angels’ proof of concept, which has been redefining the role of carers in society and delivering a new standard of person-centred care since the brand’s UK launch in 2017.

A care provider that has shown a real passion and commitment to its vision and values, Visiting Angels has become a leading franchise thanks to its trailblazing approach and devotion to acting with its carers at the heart of the business. Putting carers before anyone else had never been seen in the UK’s care industry before Visiting Angels launched with the aim of revitalising and reforming the working conditions within the sector. Now, having reached the finals of the UK’s most prestigious franchise award event, Visiting Angels has further evidenced its industry-leading framework that has contributed heavily to its rapid growth, welcoming 100 carers per month to its nationwide network of 49 franchisees.

With Visiting Angels’ commitment to wellbeing and championing a culture of care within the business, Managing Director Dan Archer is delighted to be recognised as a leading light within the UK franchise industry’s trade association in a year already filled with successes.

“Reaching the finals of an award that means so much in our ongoing mission of reforming the care industry through protecting and prioritising the wellbeing of our incredible carers is fantastic,” said Dan. “This award is a testament to Visiting Angels’ network of passionate and devoted franchisees, who equally understand the need for care providers around the UK to practise what they preach.”

“On the back of already being given so many reasons to celebrate this year, including being finalists in the Stars in Social Care Awards, winning the Disruptive Franchise Awards’ Social Impact Franchise of the Year and personally being recognised as SME MD of the Year, this is certainly the icing on the cake!”

Founded in 1977, the British Franchise Association (BFA) is a self-regulating governing body, formed to accredit and promote franchise systems that meet strict ethical and business criteria. The BFA HSBC British Franchise Awards is a staple event for brands serious about celebrating and supporting excellence in ethical franchising. The prestigious event celebrates the best of the best in franchising, recognising dedication, innovation and devotion to business and the franchise industry.

Pip Wilkins, Chief Executive of the BFA said:

“We would like to offer our enormous congratulations to all this year’s finalists. We received a huge amount of entries, and it was wonderful to read of all the amazing work being done in the UK franchising sector. We applaud our finalists for their enthusiasm, dedication and tenacity and for continuing to uphold the highest standards of the association.”

UK Head of Franchising – Commercial Banking at sponsors HSBC Bank Gillian Morris said:

“Shortlisting candidates for the HSBC BFA Awards is one of the toughest challenges of the year. Once more the candidates were a very high standard, and it was very tough to shortlist just a few entries. I was really impressed at the diversity of entries across brands and sectors which is a great testament of the strength and reach of the franchise industry. I am looking forward to meeting the finalists and wish them all luck!”
