Puddle Ducks sponsor ‘The Big Push’ for charity

Award winning franchise company Puddle Ducks which specialises in providing swimming lessons for babies and children up to the age of 10 across the UK, has announced their sponsorship of the National Childbirth Trust’s (NCT) charity event, The Big Push.

The Big Push is a 5km family friendly buggy walk. There are two main events one on the 4th September at 10am in Heaton Park in Manchester and the other on 11th September in Battersea Park, London. The walks are open to everyone and aim to raise funds and create awareness to help support parents who experience perinatal mental illness.

Mental health issues affect at least 1 in 10 women during pregnancy and early parenthood, there are a range of symptoms and conditions including antenatal or post natal depression and dads can be affected too.

The money raised will be used to develop perinatal mental health awareness workshops and provide a range of practical resources to be distributed across the NCT’s UK wide network of over 300 local branches.

She continued, “We have a lot of synergy with the charity and this is a fantastic way to spread the word and help the NCT to raise money for such a worthwhile cause, one which is close to our hearts. All our local franchisees are really getting behind the walks which should be a lot of fun.”

The charity is also providing all Puddle Ducks swimming teachers with the knowledge and confidence to recognise the signs and symptoms of different mental health issues and signpost parents to specialist services.

Puddle Ducks was founded in 2002 and they now have 33 franchisees across the UK teaching over 17,000 children to swim every week.
