Puddle Ducks franchisees set charity fundraising record

Award winning franchise company Puddle Ducks which teaches over 16,000 babies and children to swim each week across its national network, has raised a staggering £55,275 for local charities across the country – more than double the amount raised in 2014.

Franchisees encouraged their children and parents to take to the pool wearing their pyjamas for the fundraising swimming lesson which saw them learning valuable water safety skills and raising money for their chosen charities.

The ‘PJ Party’ fundraising week is a favourite in the Puddle Ducks calendar and nationally, over 2,500 Pyjama Parties take place over seven days. The company runs weekly swimming lessons for babies and children and there is a pyjama party each term where participants are asked to take part dressed in their pyjamas to help learn life- saving skills.

However, for one week each year the PJ Party becomes even more special with families being invited to support a charity.

Speaking about this year’s record-breaking event, Tracy Townend co-founder for Puddle Ducks said, “This is the fourth year we have held these events and we have seen the money raised each year increase, but we were staggered by the amount this year it is just phenomenal. Thousands of people took part, learning invaluable water-safety skills in a controlled environment whilst having fun and making a contribution to a worthwhile cause.

“We are so proud of our franchisees across the country they really work well together; they are all friends and really support each other. We well and truly smashed our fundraising record and we send our thanks and congratulations to all our Puddle Ducks teams across the country.”

Puddle Ducks was founded by Tracy Townend and Jo Stone, both mums with successful corporate backgrounds, who shared a love of swimming with their babies and a common desire to launch a business. They opened their first Puddle Ducks class in 2002 and began franchising in 2007 and now have over 33 successful franchisees.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a Puddle Ducks franchisee you can join them at one of their Discovery Days, the next ones are on Friday 11th March 2016 & Friday 6th May 2016.
