Minuteman Press Franchise Owners Host Open Day to Celebrate 18 Years & Unveil Refurbished Centre in Coventry

Graham and Monica Moody are the owners of Minuteman Press in Coventry, England since April of 2008. On 16 April 2026, Graham and Monica held an Open Day Event to celebrate 18 years in business and show off their upgraded Minuteman Press franchise.
Graham shares, “The event was sponsored by Xerox and included product demonstrations as well as refreshments. We had about 50 guests in attendance and we were also honoured to have The Lord Mayor of Coventry, Cllr Rachel Lancaster, attend. All the guests received a Minuteman Press mug, along with standard giveaways—pens, pads and branded chocolate. We also gave them a special voucher printed on our Xerox Versant 4100 using Eco foil cards. We topped it off by including the giveaways in our brand-new branded paper bags.”
Graham continues, “It was great to be able to show off various products that we can supply. After using paper bags for our own giveaways, we were able to get an enquiry for paper bags. It was also good to be able to use the event as a networking event and put our customers in contact with each other.”
Monica adds, “We have had positive feedback about the event. People really enjoyed themselves and it was good to have a wide spectrum of customers and guests. We even had a customer attend who first used us in August of 2008.”
Graham further says, “This was our first Open day we did and it left us so uplifted that we will for sure have another one this summer. Clients loved the personal touch as in the end people still love to have a chat and a beer. It is super important to leverage new technologies especially with the AI era upon us, to make our offerings and services efficient. Our clients know we are always here for a local, face-to-face consultation and that is the reason why we transformed our front lobby to be the perfect environment for marketing consultations with paper samples, promotional items, and apparel to name a few.”
18 years in business
The Open Day Event was held in the same month as the 18th Anniversary of the business. Graham says, “I attribute our longevity and success to our incredible team. In our 18 years we have only had 3 designers/print operators work for us, the present one being with us for 9 years. Our customer service/account manager has been with us for 10 years. We make a great effort to ensure that we look after them and reward them when it’s deserved, but also allow them to speak out, give their opinions and take it onboard.”
When asked about the biggest change he’s seen over the years, Graham reflects, “The biggest single change has been the growth of the Internet and emails. The same could be said for all industries though. We have embraced it and participated in the Minuteman Press Internet Marketing Programme since its introduction in the UK, reviewing regularly the ROI and increasing our investment when required. Also, over one third of our work is processed through our Minuteman.com website, saving us time.”
Quick hits
Background: “We both come from hotel backgrounds primarily in customer service and front of house roles, with Monica having been General Manager of a Holiday Inn Hotel in Birmingham immediately prior to leaving and joining the business in October of 2008.”
Training & Support: “The training and support has allowed us to have our own business. Neither of us had any experience in print or design, we wouldn’t have been able to tell you the difference between A4 or A5 paper size. But even today we still have regular support and help. Our local field rep Richard Buxton helped us plan our refurbishment including the production room layout. And when it comes to increasing our spending on the Internet Marketing Programme we have done that in conjunction with our RVP Mark Jones and looking at FLEX reports.”
Final Thoughts: “We really enjoy the freedom our business gives us. For those that know us, they will know we like a holiday or two. Being owners allows this to happen, which wouldn’t be the case if we were employed. It also helps that we have a team we can trust.”
