Martin Jones MBE joins Collective Wellness Group Board to drive Anytime Fitness UK & Ireland growth

Collective Wellness Group (CWG), the master franchise holder for Anytime Fitness UK & Ireland and Australia, is pleased to announce the appointment of respected UK business leader Martin Jones MBE to its Board.

Martin joins CWG at a pivotal stage in the company’s international growth journey, with a clear focus on accelerating the expansion of Anytime Fitness across the UK and Ireland under CWG’s ownership. His appointment further strengthens the Board as the business advances towards its long-term ambition of reaching 500 Anytime Fitness clubs across the UK and Ireland.

A highly accomplished executive with extensive leadership experience across franchising, operations and regulated service sectors, Martin is widely recognised for building high-performing businesses, scaling franchise networks and leading with both commercial acumen and purpose.

He also brings significant board and non-executive experience, alongside a strong reputation as a values-led leader in the UK market. Martin was awarded an MBE in 2023 for services to older people and has held a number of board and trustee roles across prominent UK organisations.

Justin McDonell, Co-Founder and Chair of Collective Wellness Group, said:

“We are building for scale in the UK and Ireland, and Martin’s appointment reflects the calibre of leadership we are bringing around the table to support that ambition.”

“He has an outstanding track record in franchising, business growth and leadership in the UK, and knows what it takes to build high-performing networks in complex markets. As we continue to expand Anytime Fitness under CWG ownership, Martin will play an important role in shaping the next phase of our growth.”

“This is a business with a strong brand, a clear growth agenda and a significant opportunity to expand its footprint across the UK and Ireland. CWG has the ambition, capability and long-term focus to build something meaningful in this market. I’m joining the Board at a time of real momentum and look forward to contributing to the strategy, growth and long-term success of the network.”

Martin joins recently appointed Board members Jolene Holten and Jason Pye, further broadening the depth of expertise across the CWG Board as the company continues to invest in long-term growth, governance and market leadership. CWG’s current Board includes founders Justin McDonell, Rich Peil and David Mortensen, alongside Non-Executive Directors Jordan Smith, Margaret Zabel, Stacy Anderson, Jolene Holten and Jason Pye.

This appointment reflects CWG’s commitment to bringing together world-class experience, local market insight and strong franchise leadership to guide the future growth of Anytime Fitness across its markets.
