Latics Join Forces With Bartercard
Oldham Athletic have become members of Bartercard UK, a B2B Trade Exchange that allows the club and clients to utilise products and services directly.
Bartercard is a Global Business to Business Network with 55,000 cardholders. Members of the trade exchange purchase products and services with their own products and services.
People have ‘bartered’ for millions of years however Bartercard has modernised this industry by introducing a unique digital currency (trade pounds) to form a truly cashless society. Over £425 million is traded on the Bartercard network each year.
Russell Westgarth, Commercial Manager at Bartercard UK, commented:
“Bartercard is a tool designed to generate SME’s more business by joining a community of preferred suppliers, we guarantee our members’ new customers and offer everyone who is part of our network an interest-free line of credit.”
“We are keen on speaking with business owners around the North West area who are interested in being part of a global network of like-minded businesses and we are excited to be partnering with Oldham Athletic, by joining our network they have sold to Bartercard a selection of hospitality, branding and rights in exchange for our unique digital currency which they can spend with 55,000 Bartercard merchants worldwide.
“The Club is actively looking for local suppliers to join the Bartercard network and accept trade pounds as payment.”
Latics’ Business Development Manager, Jamie Stoddart added:
“There are many tried and tested ways of maximising commercial assets that clubs of all sizes have utilised over the years, but further down the ladder we have to be a bit more creative with how we go about our business.
“Working with Bartercard allows us to be just that, by enabling us to buy and sell goods and services without affecting cash flow. The partnership will also help us move idle inventory.”
