Home Instead franchisee announced as finalist in National Awards

Karina Brown, franchise owner of Home Instead

Karina Brown, franchise owner of Home Instead Bromley, Chislehurst and Orpington has been announced as a finalist in this year’s Encouraging Women into Franchising Awards (EWiF), celebrating the achievements of women from across the franchising sector.

Karina has been named as a finalist in the Woman Franchisee of the Year Category, recognised for her compassion, innovation and an unwavering commitment to her clients, team and community.

Karina first became a Home Instead franchisee in June 2013 and was the highest performing office in 2025 across the home care company’s entire network of 266+ franchise territories, delivering care to over 150 clients across the local community.

As for personal achievements, Karina achieved Highly Commended status in the 2025 Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards in the Businesswoman of the Year category, with judges praising her vision for exceptional home care.

In 2025, she also received the Bromley Dementia Friendly Community’s inaugural Cora Phillips Award for going the extra mile to support local people affected by dementia – a reflection of her deep-rooted commitment to the community she serves.

Karina commented:

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist in this year’s EWIF Awards. Being part of a franchise network that not only supports quality home care but also champions women in business makes this recognition even more meaningful. Running my own franchise has given me the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives across my local community”.

Helen Mansfield, organiser of the EWiF Awards, commented:

“We were thrilled with the number of entries this year, coming from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by experts in franchising. Being named a finalist is a significant achievement, with finalists selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity, and perseverance.”

The 2026 EWiF Awards ceremony will take place May 20 in Leicester, where winners will be announced and celebrated. The event will bring together leaders from the franchising world to acknowledge the incredible contributions of women shaping the future of the industry.
