Celebrating a year of success

This month is a special milestone for the Clip ‘n Climb family, as we celebrate the first anniversary of three thriving franchises: Crawley, Halifax, and Wandsworth. Over the past year, these centres have not only brought exhilarating climbing experiences to thousands but have also demonstrated the strength and profitability of the Clip ‘n Climb franchise business model. The proof is in the numbers, and they certainly speak for themselves:

Bringing the fun to over 100,000 climbers

The combined efforts of Crawley, Halifax, and Wandsworth have welcomed over an impressive 100,000 climbers in just 12 months. This includes 75% of standard climbers and an additional 25% for party climbers. With an estimated 1,750 birthday parties hosted, these centres have proven to be hotspots for family celebrations, creating lasting memories and fostering strong customer loyalty.

Add-ons that elevate the experience

Clip ‘n Climb’s unique add-ons have been a hit with climbers of all ages. Over 30,000 add-ons were purchased, with standout attractions like the Drop Slide and Crawley’s Stairway to Heaven driving engagement and additional revenue. These premium experiences not only enhance the fun but also boost profitability, making them a valuable asset for franchise owners.

Café revenue: A tasty side of success

Beyond the climbing arena, the café operations at two of these centres have been a key driver of success, onsite catering was already well established at Halifax. Across the three locations, nearly 69,000 orders were placed, generating approximately £500,000 in revenue. Parents have enjoyed just short of 29,000 moments of relaxation with a hot drink while their children were entertained, and a remarkable 14,000 slush drinks were sold. The South Ridge café concept has added a social dimension to the businesses, creating a welcoming hub for spectators and enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Why investors should take note

The success of Crawley, Halifax, and Wandsworth demonstrates the incredible potential of a Clip ‘n Climb franchise. These centres have:

  • Achieved significant footfall: Attracting over 100,000 climbers in their first year.
  • Maximised revenue streams: With lucrative add-ons and a thriving cafe operation.
  • Built loyal customer bases: Hosting over 1,700 birthday parties, countless family outings, and Clip ‘n Climb Crawley has become a go to destination during the school summer holidays with their super popular holiday clubs.

Simon Jobson, franchise owner of Clip ‘n Climb Wandsworth and, more recently, Clip ‘n Climb at The O2, shared his ambitious plans for growth:

“I’d love to expand to four or five centres in the next few years. We have already begun discussions about the third location.”

These achievements highlight the strength of the Clip ‘n Climb model in delivering both fun and financial returns. For potential investors, this represents an exciting opportunity to join a proven franchise network with robust support, innovative attractions, and a growing market for experiential leisure activities.
