Lee Malin was desperate to start a business of his own.

Before discovering the world’s largest mobile coffee franchise, Cafe2U, Lee Malin had been a butcher, a postman as well as a coach and a bus driver.

Having experienced a varied career path for many years, Lee was desperate to start a business of his own.

“After years of being employed by others, I came to the conclusion that if I was going to work hard for somebody, it may as well be for myself. I enjoyed the idea that the rewards of all my hard work would directly benefit me and my family as opposed to an employer.”

Having researched what business options were available, Lee was excited by the success and support the franchising industry offered. Deciding to visit The National Franchise Exhibition in October 2014, Lee and his wife Alison were immediately drawn to the Cafe2U stand.

“After meeting the staff, it gave me confidence knowing there was a good support team if I needed it. This being my first venture working for myself, I thought I would be more confident having support from the team if things didn’t go as well as I hoped, or when I needed guidance on something.”

Following his early success, Lee is now considering purchasing another Cafe2U territory, and would advise other budding entrepreneurs to attend The National Franchise Exhibition to research franchising and meet the brands face-to-face.
