21 years of success for X-Press Legal Services

A leading franchise which provides searches and reports for conveyancing solicitors has earned ‘the key to the door’. X-Press Legal Services has reached its 21st anniversary and is celebrating over two decades of consistent expansion and success.

The brainchild of husband and wife team Lynne and Dave Lister, X-Press Legal Services started out as a kitchen table enterprise. The business was set up to provide essential property searches and reports for local conveyancers, something many people think is carried out by their solicitors. Still owned and managed by the Lister family, X-Press Legal Services now comprises 26 franchises throughout England and Wales.

Collectively, this network produces over 400,000 searches and reports every year and is relied upon by over 500 legal practices. X-Press Legal Services has also been named as one of the UK’s top 10 search companies.

The searches and reports produced by X-Press Legal are integral to every property transaction, so the company has performed consistently over the years, despite any fluctuations in the property market. Back in 1998, the Listers pre-empted the industry’s movement towards becoming increasingly digitised and this has also played a role in their business success.

X-Press Legal Services uses the latest technology, including an in-house case management system and a bespoke online ordering system, enabling franchise owners to provide high-quality, data-rich reports for their clients, all at the click of a button.

X-Press Legal Services has excellent working relationships with a number of specialist industry bodies, including Ordnance Survey, Landmark, CLS and Groundsure. The company is also an Executive Member of the Council of Property Search Organisations (COPSO).

Lynne and Dave have brought X-Press Legal a long way since they began working on it from home 21 years ago. Now, from their Head Office in Warrington, they continually support franchise owners with ongoing training and business mentoring.

Lynne Lister commented,

“We’re delighted to be celebrating 21 years of success and we’re proud of our network of expert franchise owners who have each built their own exceptional franchise business. Many have been with us since we first created the X-Press Legal Services franchise model and we plan to continue welcoming new franchise owners to join the network.

“As a vital part of the property transaction process, we’re also proud to have been helping property buyers to get their key to the door for the past 21 years.”
