Green Shield Group Franchise Interview with Ian Tobin

Green Shield Group sat down with franchisee Ian Tobin to discuss why he chose to work with Green Shield Group and his journey as a franchisee so far.

Why did you decide to join Green Shield Group (GSG) as a franchisee/regional director?

There are a number of reasons why I chose to be a Regional Director at Green Shield Group. The people involved are really fun to work with and great people. I believe in their commitment to creating a sustainable future by helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint and as a franchisee I am heavily involved in helping with that cause.

Green Shield Group also offers a proven business model as well as guidance and the help needed to succeed. Renewable energy is an emerging market with guaranteed growth backed by long-term Government initiatives. As more businesses seek to reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions, the demand for renewable energy solutions will continue to rise.

If we run the franchise well, there are opportunities for excellent return on investment supported by GSG’s strong client base with some well-known household names. Building on this trust will be essential for driving new sales and accelerating business growth.

How have Green Shield Group supported you on your journey to becoming a franchisee?

Green Shield Group has been an excellent support in personal training, taking us to see real examples of successful projects and introducing us to the whole team. They have provided real life training sessions and Lee Roberts, Franchise Manager has provided support throughout.

What plans do you have to expand the Green Shield Group brand in your territory?

We have already joined the local Chamber of Commerce, reached out to personal contacts who may have influence over renewable energy projects and begun posting across social media alongside email campaigns utilising the lead generation software.

In addition, we have done detailed studies (locally) of the types of businesses that could be excellent candidates for medium and large renewable energy projects which forms part of our new business strategy.

Do you have any projects in the pipeline?

We have had one of our first consultations which will be followed up by a desktop design for solar and voltage optimisation. We also have an opening with a large Spa in the area through personal connections. There is huge scope to grow the GSG franchise within the area and we are looking forward to expanding our project pipeline.
