Tiffinbites’ Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Jamal Hirani, launched Tiffinbites in 2003, after quitting corporate life to pursue his business dream. Recognising the need for a convincing authentic culinary proposition for the Indian dining market, Jamal set up Tiffinbites to offer tasty and healthy home cooked-style Indian food.

Healthy food

Tiffinbites dishes are prepared each day using freshly ground spices, fresh vegetables, the leanest cuts of meat and without adding ghee (clarified butter). These methods mean that not only is the food healthy – less than ten per cent fat – but it also does not have the pungent smell often associated with Balti houses.

The Tiffin

The Tiffinbites concept is based around the ‘tiffinbox’ – a traditional metal storage container used in India to transport home-cooked food. Every day thousands of tiffinboxes are used to carry Indian food to business people across Mumbai by workers called ‘Tiffin-wallahs’. Tiffinbites serves all its dishes in tiffinboxes as a practical and traditional serving solution which is perfect for communal dining, and the low-fat and healthy aspect of Tiffinbites food means that Indian food now has a place on the list of lunchtime choices. Tiffinbites is also popular as an evening destination where the intimate surroundings, Bollywood melodies and cinnamon scented candles provide an atmosphere perfect for relaxing with friends over a few cocktails.

With a strong base of restaurants in London, Jamal is now looking to extend Tiffinbites’ unique Indian dining offering nationwide and internationally with a major franchising operation.

Successful franchisees will have the opportunity to open and run their own Tiffinbites restaurant. The franchise package provides new franchisees with everything needed to successfully set up and run the franchise, including:
