Talk to any of our McDonald’s franchisees and you will find out that they are in partnership with a business that is seeing its highest sales growth for the last 18 years. We’ve grown our customer transactions to help sustain this growth and the question you need to ask yourself is “can you afford not to be growing with us?”

We are a modern and progressive brand that sees franchisees and employees receiving rewards and satisfaction along the way. Coupled with average ownership increasing to 4 restaurants per Franchisee you will also see we have received highly acclaimed external awards for our Marketing, Human Resources and Internal Communications.

There is a certain type of individual we are looking for. You will have already had success in business or another career, ideally with experience and a high standard of people management and development coupled with external customer skills. We will want you to have achieved financial stability as this shows one of the necessary talents to be one of our franchisees. Added to this you will need to have approximately £85,000 unencumbered funds to invest into the business as well as being able to cover living expenses during a 9-month training program.

The turnover and profit your franchise delivers will depend on many factors. Average profit margins are in the region of 6%, which generates around £90,000 profit per year. From this you will repay any loans, pay tax and then pay yourself. These returns are not guaranteed and as a Franchisee you will need to take a hands on approach if you are to build sales and maximise profitability.

Our history started in 1955 with Ray Kroc and one restaurant to today and over 31,000 restaurants in over 120 countries serving over 52 million people daily. Globally more than 70% of restaurants are franchised. Here in the UK we started in 1974 franchising our first restaurant in 1986 to a Franchisee who is still in the system over 20 years later. Over 52% of restaurants here in the UK are operated by Franchisees and with a winning formulae it will not stop there, as there are still many franchise opportunities available.

The first stage of the selection process is to complete the enquiry form at the base of this page. We will send you more details and an application form. After screening and if we believe you have potential we will then invite you to an interview. If we’re both still interested, you will be asked to spend 5 days working in a McDonald’s restaurant so you can find out what it’s like in the business. If you enjoy the environment and we think you are right for it you will go through a final selection process before being interviewed by the UK selection panel.
