Ovenclean Success Story

JUST 18 months ago Emily and Ian Balm were among thousands of visitors flocking to the National Franchise Exhibition at the NEC, in search of a new career direction.
Mr Balm, a former financial sector worker, had been made redundant following the banking crisis, while Mrs Balm was on maternity leave and expecting their first child.
Today they run a successful Ovenclean franchise, which gives them the flexibility to build their growing business around their young son and enjoy good financial rewards.
Cleaning ovens is one of the most hated household chores, and with 27 million households in the UK, the potential marketplace for Ovenclean franchisees is big and growing.
Mrs Balm said: “It’s certainly hard work, but on the positive side, those customers who have seen their ovens restored from quite a bad condition into an oven that’s pristine and ‘good as new’, tend to be the most delighted with our service.”
A recent national survey commissioned by Ovenclean into awareness and attitudes towards professional domestic oven cleaning services confirmed that 100 per cent of those who had experienced a professional oven clean rated the service as excellent and said that they would definitely have their ovens professionally cleaned again.
Mr Balm added: “Ovenclean has supported us all the way. There is the potential with a franchise that you’ll either be left too much to your own devices, or micro-managed and given too little independence. In my view, Ovenclean provides a very happy balance, and we’re delighted with the way our business is going.”
