Hot leads generated this summer
It hasn’t all been about Pimms, strawberries and ice cream this summer. The British Franchise Exhibition held at the SECC in Glasgow delivered two days of superb business lead generation and networking opportunities
The British Franchise Exhibition in Glasgow in June showcased a diverse range of business opportunities with a number of leading franchise brand names taking a stand at the event, including Dream Doors, Cash Generator, The Streat Franchising, Fastway Couriers, Signs Express, Snap-on-Tools, Revive! Auto Innovations, All Mobility, PlumbXpress & ElecXpress, ChipsAway, energie fitness clubs and MinuteMan Press.
As the only Scottish franchise event accredited by the British Franchise Association, this exhibition received positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors:
Michael Reynolds, a recruitment consultant from Tayside, commented: “This is a fantastic business event providing all you need to know about franchising. It is a must for anyone looking at getting ahead in franchising.”
Nic Davis, a hospitality manager from Glasgow, added: “There is a good overall feel to the exhibition. I’ve attended pretty much all of the seminars held here and found them all very useful – invaluable for a first timer looking at franchise businesses.”
It was also a valuable couple of days for the attending exhibitors, as demonstrated by Alex Waite, Recruitment Manager for Dream Doors, who said: “The exhibition has exceeded our expectations. We have spoken to a number of strong candidates and look forward to growing our brand in Scotland on the back of the exposure we have had at the show.”
“Once again exhibiting at this show has been a resounding success. More than 100 positive leads have been generated with many already having booked appointments to continue their interest,” added Melvin Hurley, Marketing Manager for Fastway Couriers and longstanding franchise exhibitor.
The show also featured a number of useful business support services including the Franchisee Forum – from employee to franchisee. New to the exhibition this year, the feature provided the perfect fact-finding opportunity for visitors to question and network with existing franchisees about how to make the successful transition from employee to becoming your own boss.
Also well received during the exhibition was the Growing Your Own Business Showcase & Conference. Speakers at this year’s event included Amanda Jones and James Brown, two young entrepreneurs who founded Red Button Design, an award winning design company that made an impact on the BBC Dragons’ Den when they gained unprecedented financial support from all five Dragons. Amanda and James addressed the audience on small business growth strategies.
David Tuck, Franchise Sales Manager at Venture Marketing Group, organisers of The British Franchise Exhibition commented: “We have once again seen a good calibre of visitors to the show demonstrating the strength of interest in franchising in Scotland. The British Franchise Exhibition in Glasgow continues to be an excellent lead generator for our exhibitors.”

Website news
It’s all been about websites this summer. Franinfo.co.uk successfully re-launched as franchiseinfo.co.uk to maximise the website’s search engine optimisation.
The new domain name coupled with the design launched last year has strengthened the website’s position as a premier source of franchising information and franchises for sale.
Marketing Manager of the Franchise portfolio, Sarah Sweby, said: “Visitors to the site will still be able to access essential exhibition information and exclusive online registration, as well as benefit from one of the UK’s most comprehensive online franchise directories.”
