Franchise Marketing Awards 2007 review

The Franchise Marketing Awards are held in recognition of the industry’s most innovative and effective marketing campaigns for products, services and franchisee recruitment. It is judged by an independent panel of experts to recognise and reward companies that have raised their public awareness and as a result, achieved sustainable growth.

This year’s event was an outstanding success with more than 400 guests (many of whom hit the dance floor) at the glamorous gala dinner held at London’s Marriott Hotel on the eve of 23 March. Franchisors from across the UK came together to celebrate excellence in marketing their brands, websites, launch programmes, recruitment literature and PR campaigns.

Supported by the British Franchise Association, The Daily Mail and Business Franchise Magazine, and sponsored by Lloyds TSB Business and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the awards, now in their second year, recognise the hard work and immense creativity franchisors put into their dynamic marketing campaigns.

It’s also the perfect opportunity for franchisors to raise their profile throughout the industry via the exposure from both national and trade press. In particular, The Daily Mail and Business Franchise Magazine give extensive coverage of all the finalists and winners, helping to effectively market themselves to potential franchisees and therefore strengthening market position. The event is also a fantastic way to motivate, reward and acknowledge the achievements of current staff.

The awards evening was hosted by Lee Hurst, best known to television viewers as the quirky and quick-witted panelist on BBC1’s popular sporting quiz, They Think It’s All Over. Hurst was on top form with his usual brand of off the wall laughs while guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and partied into the small hours.
