A CHANGE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Tim and Karen Lester never thought they’d find the job of their dreams. Now after many businesses including owning their own fast charter fishing boat, a water ski school and latterly a catering company, they have never been happier as a franchisee for NBC Bird and Pest Solutions.

Tim and Karen, from Poole, had never felt settled in a career before, but with NBC Bird and Pest Solutions. , the UK’s largest nationwide bird and pest control company, they believed they had found the perfect fit, ‘NBC has given us huge rewards both personally and financially in combining our love of the outdoors with a healthy turnover’.

He adds, ‘In year one, I employed two staff and had estimated earnings of £50,000 but achieved £93,000. I do business within both the commercial and domestic industries, ranging from councils to naval bases to hotels. I currently employ eight staff and have a projected turnover of £400,000 for my fourth year, and in a further four years time, I wish to double this’.

Things couldn’t be better for the pair, and Tim says that going into partnership with his wife has been a key factor in achieving his accomplishments. ‘I put a lot of time and effort into developing the business. However I owe much of my success to my wife who has stood by me.”
He adds, ‘I also owe a lot to my staff for the manner in which they promote the brand and exercise constant customer care, and last but not least the phenomenal support I receive from the franchisor, together with a highly successful product that is always in demand’.
