Marketing advice
The year to achieve
Have you reached your business targets? Paul Taylor can offer a helping hand
At the end of each year, most of us spend a few moments reflecting on what we have accomplished over the past year. You may ask yourself are we where we wanted to be? Each year, for many companies, there is a little disappointment when they realise that - no - they did not achieve everything they had set out to get done.
Is this a case of dreaming too big? Or perhaps dreaming big, and then spending too much time on other tasks? How can you make this year different?
Focus. Effort. Patience. Courage. Confidence. And listen to good advice.
It's time to take stock of what worked and what didn't.
In the 'worked for me' column goes:
- Taking action while the thought was fresh
- Not being afraid of taking risks (nothing ventured, nothing gained)
- Remembering to jot down a follow up appointment to check results at regular intervals
- Finding ways to automate as much as possible
- Placing a value on my time and sticking to it
- Brainstorming with the right people
- Buying a business development product and working through it front to back (and taking notes)
- Stop smoking. The extra time not spent outside puffing away has been a boon.
In the 'didn't really work for me' column goes:
- Buying three internet marketing products in a week and not completing any of them
- Being on the mailing list of 109 different marketers. Asking for too many costings from too many people (too much lost time reading and sorting)
- Over extending myself and not placing a value on my time
- Not allowing enough personal recreation time. (It's important to chill from time to time)
- Trying to remember everything without taking notes.
We would like to believe we are part of the 'worked for me' column (I am reliably informed by our clients we are!)
So I would like to share a possible solution for 2010 with you. Who knows, it may turn out to be the best thing you do for your franchise this year!
My company, Consider This UK, has created a product called FORM (Franchise Online Resource for Marketing), which is an integration of our total marketing solution and our web to print solution. This gives you the opportunity to use one company to look after you and your franchisees marketing requirements through our online ordering service (we build you a bespoke, branded website for this).
You can also utilise our marketing expertise across all brand development (we know how difficult it is protecting your franchise brand), graphic design, print, direct marketing, web design and build, advertising, promotional goods, banners, exhibitions and signage.
Our batch ordering service encourages franchisees to order branded marketing material at optimum times to your particular franchise audience throughout the year. By printing multiple items in larger batches our production costs are reduced and the savings are passed directly on to your franchisees. So they save money on marketing, whilst greatly improving the prospective success rate from each campaign.
