Retail franchises

UK franchise opportunities in the retail sector

Retail franchises have a branded shop-front or premises from which the franchisee conducts their business. A large number of high profile retailers are franchises and this sector includes fast food outlets, coffee houses and clothing shops.

Retail franchises tend to have relatively high start-up costs because the franchisee is required to invest in premises, often in a prime location in order for the business to be a success. This investment is justified by the size of the return that a franchisee can expect to receive. Retail franchises can also be very profitable and are some of the most recognisable brands in franchising.

Even in times of economic uncertainty, retail franchises continue to perform well in comparison to other retail businesses. The franchisor drives the promotion of the brand at a national level whilst the franchisee can adapt to the demands of the market at a regional level which gives the franchisee a competitive edge.

Previous Retail experience is not an essential although a management background is usually preferred.

Signage and Printing franchises can also be deemed as retail franchises.
