Our history

The Financial Management Centre was developed from a national accountancy firm that specialised in franchise accounts. It was trading for more than twelve years previously to the creation of The Financial Management Centre; which now been franchising since 2007.
 

Growing the network with high quality franchisees has been the key to our success. This has helped cement our position as the market leader in operational finance. In 2010, we were one of the fastest growing franchisees in the UK even with our strict recruitment process.

 

Our services

Within The Financial Management Centre, there are three tailored services that our franchisees deliver to businesses. They are:
 
The Online Bookkeeper - a unique and innovative online, accountancy, software service. It helps busy small business owners, with the bookkeeping and financial management of their business. It also allows them to pull on the qualified and experienced resources of the TFMC network, if they need professional help. This service is targeted at businesses with an employee size of 0-1 employees.


The Local Bookkeeper service - the UK’s leading, national, bookkeeping and management accountancy service for SMEs.  Within this, franchisees offer five core professional services: bookkeeping, management accounts, credit control, payroll services and self assessment tax returns. This service is targeted towards businesses with an employee size of between 2-9 employees. 


The Local Accounts Department service - provides professional accounting and financial management services to ambitious and fast growing businesses. It allows them to become more responsive and achieve higher performance. There are three service options: ‘Pay As You Go’ bookkeeper, management accountant or financial controller; an entire outsourced accounts department or accounting systems consultancy. The Local Accounts Department service is targeted towards businesses at a size of ten employees upwards.

What is unique about us?

We are the UK’s market leader in delivering operational finance services to small- and medium-sized businesses.  Compared to our competitors we have the strongest links with national accountancy firms and other business partnerships in the franchise industry. We use these partnerships as a major source of new clients for the network.

All franchisees gain their own localised micro-sites for each of the branded services and we are the only franchise to offer branded online accountancy software.

Our experienced and successful in-house contact team delivers hundreds of quality telemarketing appointments each month to the franchisees. This helps to directly increase their client base.

Marketing and sales support is key to the success of the franchisees. We have Chartered Institute of Marketing qualified professionals available to consult and implement campaigns to help increase the franchisee’s client base.

How we train and support you

As a franchisee you will receive an intensive residential training week upon your launch, to teach you about how to work to our business model and deliver our service. 

You will be able to liaise with a dedicated development manager so your support will be individual to your business and your territory. This will give you peace of mind that your business will continue to be nurtured with our individual advice and strategies throughout your entire time with us.  You will however not only receive support from TFMC but also from the rest of the network – up to a possible 452 franchisees in the UK.

You will be given technical support and ongoing training to ensure you are up to date with the most recent legislative changes, and an extensive amount of technological support that is normally only enjoyed by large corporations. You are therefore able to present an impressive, professional image and service to the client.

Your marketing

TFMC’s marketing campaigns are highly effective and industry recognised. The local, regional and national campaigns will create maximum awareness and interest in TFMC’s services both within your territory and outside of its borders.

Upon your launch, you will be provided with a number of telemarketing appointments which will be supported with a mass direct mail shot and you will be given three professionally designed websites each worth over £6,000 to generate website leads for you.

What are the key skills that we look for in a franchisee?

We look for individuals who:

  • Have experience and are qualified in finance or accountancy
  • Possess communication skills that will allow them to explain financial matters to an individual who is not financially minded, in a way that is easy for them to understand
  • Have excellent business acumen to enable them to give sound financial advice that will relate back to their clients’ business
  • Are capable of building relationships with their clients and who are able to be credible and trustworthy, both in their initial contact and ongoing business relationships
  • Is open to innovation and keen to propel their business forward

Lisa Ellis - High Wycombe
