LawnHopper ® is a pioneer of lawn treatment in the UK and has been in business since 1995. We recognized that there was a market in the UK for a service that provided professional lawn treatment to domestic and commercial lawns. We started with just a few customers who very quickly became delighted with the results and recommendations started flooding in. This resulted in quick expansion to three branches; Wirral, Liverpool and Runcorn, and we soon started getting interest from householders all over the UK.
A natural progression was to use our proven business system and replicate it in different areas of the UK by franchising. Since 2006 we have awarded many successful territories and are currently receiving new enquiries from all over the country. We are now expanding our franchise network to cover this demand.In order to start a lawn treatment service and get the best possible results in your area you would greatly benefit from using the LawnHopper® brand name, our operational procedures and our enviable experience. Training & Support
Included in your franchise purchase is a full two week one-to-one training course onsite at the LawnHopper® Head Office. The staff here work with you on every step of your LawnHopper® journey.
Our training course includes:
- Full treatment training with our most experienced crew member. This covers everything from lawn weeds, pests and diseases to specific lawn requirements for fertilizers, weed and moss control.
- Lawn winter maintenance training including Core Aeration and Machine Scarification.
Health & Safety training including all PPE requirements and advice on first aid, manual handling, fire and risk assessments. - Administration training on our bespoke computer software.
- Accounts management training with advice on record keeping and all accounting requirements.
- Employment training – everything you will be required to do when employing staff.
- We will pay for you to attend an NPTC PA1/6 training course; to enable you to gain the specific required certification for using weed and pest controls.
- Sales and marketing training with our Sales Manager.
- General business management training.
At the end of your training course you will be given full ‘How To’ manuals to take away with you and a dedicated telephone number to contact the franchise office direct with any queries you may have.
Our aim is to take away the ‘trial and error’ aspect of starting your own business. At Head Office we can assist you at any time, with any queries or problems should they arise.
Our management team have a combined experience of over 60 years in the lawn care industry and will work alongside you every step of the way.

“Back in 2005 I destroyed my own lawn with products bought from the local shop and had to pay £400.00 to get it re-turfed. “I worked as an independent financial advisor for many years but had always wanted to own my own business. I wanted that independence as well as having a business that I could potentially pass onto my children in the future. I had looked at utilizing my existing skills and wanted to broaden my experience and decided that client service was a definite focus of mine and wanted to make a difference. I was a client of LawnHopper Isle of Man and the previous owner had advised me of the potential sale whilst treating my lawns. I jumped at the chance and bought the franchise along with the existing customers in August 2010. I received a spraying course on the Island; learning of the application of herbicides/pesticides. Following this I attended the UK head office for training one on one with the Office Manager for the administration side of the business as well as going out with other members of the crewmen getting to grips with the operation of the business first hand. I found the on the job training was excellent and all involved were very helpful to me.
Being a franchisee is very rewarding but also very hard work, however should you need assistance you know you can rely on Head Office to provide this should the need arise.
