The gas-elec Group is a leader in the field of gas and electrical safety inspections and services. We are one of the fastest growing franchises of its kind in the UK and are currently celebrating 15 successful years in business.

The gas-elec Group boasts a national network comprising 18 regional offices and over 120 engineers nationwide. We excel in providing a comprehensive service for our clients – gas and electrical safety, plus associated remedial works. We recently launched our g-fix ‘handyman’ repairs service.

This is a third element to our business that enables our customers to book their safety inspection and general repairs in one call.

There are currently over three million rented homes in the UK that need to undergo annual safety inspections. This means landlords and letting agents have to comply with legislation and get properties checked every 12 months. This has created a recession-proof market with repeat inspections every year worth £270 million a year. Landlords need full confidence and reassurance that properties they manage are legal and safe for their tenants at all times.

That’s where we come in. gas-elec provides a combination of gas and electrical safety inspections, as well as boiler servicing, boiler cover plan Heat-Care, home buyer reports and periodic inspections. Plus, our newly launched g-fix franchise means general repairs can be arranged through us as well. One call really does do it all!

Is gas-elec right for you?

To become a safety inspection franchisee you will need to have gas qualifications and CCN1 as a minimum. You will also have an engineering background, e.g., plumber, heating or multi-skilled qualified engineer. We offer comprehensive training to bring you up to standard in all aspects of
gas and electrical safety inspections and appliances.

To become a g-fix ‘handyman’ franchisee you will need experience and the ability to carry out repairs and household maintenance.

The gas-elec franchise investment initially is £16,500, plus VAT. The equipment package includes; signage to your van, all tools and test equipment, uniform and laptop computer.

Franchisee Support

The gas-elec franchise is a two-tier operation with regional management franchisees and safety inspection franchisees working in partnership locally. Ongoing business support for all franchisees includes; sales and marketing, appointment making, centralised invoicing and credit control,
bookkeeping and IT support.

We maximise this support with a bespoke computerised system, so our franchisees do not have to spend time on paperwork or accounts. Plus, our excellent relationships with letting agents and property managers ensures a constant supply of work.

The Rewards

A typical gas-elec franchisee is likely to be earning £60,000 by the third year of their franchise. Some of our engineers have achieved an annual income of more than £75,000, with many achieving third year projected incomes in year one.

The company is registered with ELECSA as a competent firm under Part P of the building regulations, which was introduced in England & Wales in January 2005 to govern electrical safety in the home.
