Summary Of Operation   

BristishEco is a leading installer of renewable energy solutions to the domestic and commercial markets in the UK. It sells and installs the major renewable technologies namely, solar PV, wind turbines, solar thermal, biomass boilers, heat pumps and rainwater harvesting.

The UK renewable energy sector has become an important element of the Government's drive towards a lower carbon economy through making homes, communities and workplaces more energy efficient with heat and power from low carbon sources.

BritishEco is uniquely placed to take full advantage of the recent Government initiatives, these being the Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) for electricity generation, the recently announced Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) subsiding heat generation and the Green Deal which will be introduced in 2010 offering energy saving packages to every home and business in the UK. The Government is committed to a target of at least 15% of the UK's energy requirements from renewable sources by 2020.

BritishEco sources products, sells through it's own network of sales consultants who operate under a Franchise Agreement covering specific geographic areas. BritishEco generates leads for the sales consultants, provides full technical support and has its own installation capability. The Head Office is currently in Maidenhead and aims to move to larger premises with further distribution centres to open in 2012. BritshEco also has an operation in Scotland run under Master Franchise arrangement.

Turnover for the current financial year will be £4.5m and is projected to reach £10.75m by 2012.

We see the franchisees as being one of our partners, enjoying the freedom to operate their own business but with the protection and support of BritishEco brand. Clearly the sector is still immature and one which we believe is set to grow rapidly over the next 5 years. The introduction of the Feed-in Tariffs in April where the Government are guaranteeing significant payments for generating your own electricity is seeing a huge increase in interest in Solar PV in particular. We currently have 14 franchisees with a number of other interested parties looking to come on board in the next few months.

Initial in-house training is provided over 2 days at Head Office with regular ongoing training to keep the franchisees updated on technical and/or market innovations. This ongoing training is a combination of external and internal session with frequent guest speakers.

Franchise Opportunity

The Franchise is intended to be a sales franchise with the sourcing and buying of products dealt with be Head Office and the installation of the purchased technologies also coordinated by Head Office. The franchisee will NOT be involved in the installation side. This frees up the franchisee to concentrate on sales, marketing and on creating a local identity for BritishEco in their area. The scheme is commission based and the rate of commission varies from product to product ranging from 25% on Solar Thermal to 5% on Wind Turbines - (These are complicated long-term projects requiring planning permission).

The franchisee benefits from BritishEco's intellectual property in it's long standing relationships with a wide range of manufacturers and suppliers enabling us to source products at the best available prices. We also offer the technical and marketing support from Head Office to enable you to approach customers from all sectors:- domestic, commercial, institutional and in particular the new build market where legislation is pushing architects, developers and builders to incorporate renewable into their projects.

We are charging a Franchisee fee of £15,000 + VAT and the Franchise will be sales based with the franchisee earning commissions on each successful sale. Conservative figures put together by our franchise consultants suggest that after recouping the initial outlay, and other capital and running costs of around a further £10,000, the franchisee will make a profit of approximately £35,000 in the first year, rising to £65,000 in the second year and £75,000 in the third year. These are of course projections because our early franchisees have only been running for a maximum of 2 years but they are based on achievable sales and the early signs are very encouraging. The franchises are being sold on a postcode basis. One of the biggest advantages of coming on board at this relatively early stage is that, while our business is still growing, you will have access to a number of adjoining postcodes which do not have a dedicated franchise at this time.

You will be required to lease (or purchase) an eco-friendly car in white so that it can be wrapped in our brand colours and have an identifiable local telephone number attached. You will be required to purchase some exhibition equipment to enable you to display at shows and other events.
