With a traditional leased pub, the onus falls on the licensee to build the business from scratch. Greene King’s franchise means people with no previous knowledge of the pub sector can gain from the company’s 200 years’ experience running great pubs.
The franchise
With a Meet & Eat franchise, Greene King invests money in
a pub to create a ‘ready-to-run’ business.

How it works
A Greene King Meet & Eat franchise lasts for 10 years on a rolling basis. All food and drink is supplied by Greene King distribution channels. In return for your initial investment, Greene King develops the premises to the highest standards, providing everything a business needs to launch including; marketing plans, menus, operating standards and procedures, EPOS till system and comprehensive training.
All you need to know
During your initial start up period you will receive all the training you need to operate your business including; Greene King’s award-winning Go For Growth workshop on maximising sales and training in cellar management, finance, food hygiene and Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems.Finding the right fit
Greene King is looking for self-motivated operators with strong retailing skills, who can build a successful team dedicated to delivering the highest standards. Meet & Eat is not restricted to people who have worked in the industry before – some of Greene King’s most successful operators come from a general business background.Entry costs are £85,000 for the franchise package, with a trade deposit of £5,000 and working capital of £15,000, variable depending on the particular site. In return the franchisee can expect to generate an estimated annual profit of £40 – 45,000.*
