The entrepreneur gained an honours degree in engineering at Glasgow Caledonian before taking a Masters in IT Systems at the University of Strathclyde.
Amjid Bashir started his retail business career just over 11 years ago when he left a very rewarding professional career as a Software Consultant and setup a successful chain of convenience stores in Glasgow city centre.
In 2008 Amjid started a Baguette Express franchise located in Glasgow city centre. By engaging in an active sales development and marketing campaigns, Amjid's Baguette Express quickly became one of the busiest and successful sandwich shops in Glasgow City centre.
Amjid concluded negotiations in October 2009 with the company's owners to acquire the potentially lucrative Baguette Express Greater London franchise for a six figure sum.
Amjid's aim is to open 50 plus shops in Greater London over the next 3-4 years and has already opened 2 stores in London with a numbers of franchisees who have paid their deposits and are actively looking for sites. His master franchise territory reaches not only within the M25 but also westwards to include Maidenhead, Berkshire on the M4 and south west to include Guildford, Surrey on the M3, there is enormous potential for rapid growth.
