Franchise case studies Shahid Hussein

In 2008 Shahid Hussein changed his life and set up Starlite Travel Centre. “I previously managed a group of service stations but I wanted to do something exciting, have better working hours and more time to spend with my family. I decided that travel would be a great franchise opportunity and chose The Global Travel Group when I saw what they had to offer.

 

I must credit the Training Academy, I came to them with no travel experience, but I have never known such a proficient and intelligent group of trainers, when I had completed the course I felt like a true travel professional.

 

Now with 6 months under his belt in his call centre based business, Shahid has found the industry really interesting. “I am really enjoying working in the travel industry, there’s lots of scope and if you put in the effort and hard work then the fruits are there to be had.”

 

Today Starlite Travel Centre is a specialist in luxury tropical holidays, using the internet to drive business and benefiting from many repeat bookings. “I first set about creating our website and getting a high rating on the internet. It was our goal from the start to gain repeat business and now we are fulfilling this, already some of our clients have come back to us over 5 times!”

 

Shahid’s advice to new members is simple:  “Do your research, choose an area to specialise in and stick to it – don’t try to sell the world!”
